You need to do a bug fix on the open gl aspect so you don't have to run in compatibility mode in order to use open gl rendering

I'm not quite sure I follow. Do you mean remove the RGL abstraction? Or are there some hoops you have to jump through in order to get Homeworld running on Windows/Linux?

currently (patch 1.05) in order for you to use the open gl rendering system in homeworld you have to run it in windows nt 4.0 service pack 5 otherwise you get an error and it will switch back to your last used one. That is what needs to be fixed. It should be able to use the open gl rendering system without running it in compatibility mode
