Name is Joe. I've been programming on and off since I was eleven and I got my first computer (A TI 99/4a). Currently, I mostly do Python programming, but I'm familiar with a bunch of languages (C, C++, and Prolog mostly). I live in a small town in Northeast PA called Honesdale.

Currently, my primary OS is OS X Lion, but I also run Linux both in a VM and on a laptop currently running Ubuntu 12.04 as its main OS. I run Windows 7 in Boot camp on one of my Macs. I'm returning to college this fall to study Information Technology. (And I'll be 40 in a few days, so it's never too late).

Looking forward to hanging out here and learning as much as I can, and offering as much assistance as I can.

Short Hi from me as well.
This place seems a bit deserted but of course its summer, too :)
At least for me (europe/germany).
I found my old Homeworld CD during my last move and got caught up again :)
I left PC-gaming when I left windows around 2000.
When I found this site I stood in awe :)
Im an astrophysicist (I wasnt even a student when I played homeworld first ;-) by now and even though it somehow runs in Wine,
I would LOVE to play HW again under linux <3
Current binary releases fail to execute (libGl or something) but Im optimistic that I can make a source-build work.
Hopefully someone picks up my svn-access request *ping...*
Im used to python, C(++) and 6502-asm but most of them on a doing-my-own-code basis for work (and 6502 of course as a hobby).
Glad that such a group of people here exist :)
Cheers,
Martin

PS: now I must find some old backups of savegames :) (however, I assume they cant be used for hw-sdl?)
